Steps in Selecting a Memorial
Step 1 What you will need before you contact us.

The information below will allow us to guide you through the monument order process

1. · What is the size restrictions of monument from Cemetery (Minimum and Maximum) If we deal with the cemetery on a regular basis we may this information on file.
2. · What is the Lot # and Section of your Plot? (This will most likely be on the Deed to the plot)
3. · Who is the current lot owner? (They will need to sign the Cemetery Authorization)
4. · How much is the foundation charge for the monument? (We probably have the information on file.)
5. · How many total people will be buried there? Are they going to be Casket Burial or Cremains? (This allows us to design the layout for the amount of lettering involved.)

Step 2 Type of Memorial

Type pertains to the overall dimensions of the memorial. Each cemetery has their own restrictions and regulations for each lot. So it would be helpful for you to find out what is allowed for your specific lot from the cemetery. We can contact the cemetery for you, or we may this information on file.

Step 3: Size/Shape of Memorial

This Pertains to the overall dimensions of the monument. Each cemetery has their own restrictions and regulations for each lot. It would be best to find out what size monument is allowed in your selected lot before you go any further. We may have this information on file or we can contact the cemetery for you.

Step 4: Color/Finish of Memorial

Typically granite, slate or marble are the 3 kinds of stone used for memorials. Of the 3, granite is the most durable, rated a 7/10 on the Moh's scale (used to gauge hardness of substances). Due to marble and slate being softer and not as durable, granite is the recommended material for most memorials. There are many different kinds of granite in the world and there are new forms of granite being discovered all the time. Pricing is determined by rarity, country of origin, and how easy it is to quarry quality pieces. There are 3 main types of finish: Polished, Steeled (Unpolished), and Rough. We can show you various colors and finishes, either at our shop or in the comfort of your own home.

Step 6: Lettering on Memorial

Lettering pertains not only to the font, but also size, lay-out and amount of lettering on the memorial. You will want to decide the font you want to use, lay-out of panels and dates, as well as if you would like to add any epitaphs or messages.
